Help & FAQ

Your first five minutes

New to roadbooks? Begin with lesson 1. Here to ride? Choose Desert on Home and take a gentle first lap.

Game modes

Free rideExplore a stage at your own pace.

Follow the roadbook or simply get comfortable with the bike. There is no lesson to pass.

  1. Choose Desert, Alpine pass, Canyon, Forest or Mountain on Home, then Start ride.

  2. Use W to accelerate, S to brake and A/D to steer. On a phone, use the Gas, Brake and steering controls.

  3. Read each note’s distance, tulip and CAP heading. Pause whenever you need a closer look.

Good to know Lost? Track returns you to the route and Map offers practice help. Assisted or recovered practice does not count as a scored result.

Trials parkPractise balance and obstacles in the quarry.

Learn slow control, hops and ledges with the supplied stock Trials 300.

  1. Choose Trials park on Home. The park supplies its bike, even if you have not unlocked it.

  2. Approach a low obstacle slowly. Shift weight with ↑/↓ or the phone’s Stick/Tilt controls.

  3. Hold Space (Hop on touch) to preload, then release to hop. Add throttle and balance the bike over the obstacle.

Good to know The Trials bike is standing-only. This is an assisted stock try-out; it does not unlock the bike or earn riding challenges.

Jam sessionExplore Festival Park, practise tricks and race friends.

Choose your own session: free exploration, stunt practice or a marked Festival race.

  1. Open Jam session, choose a bike and create or join a room. Bikes with ownership requirements must be unlocked first.

  2. Open Festival map & races to see the whole park. Zoom, drag and select a district, race or rider to travel there. Race banners offer Travel & join before the gathering closes.

  3. Race through all gates for three laps. Open People & chat (Enter) for lobby messages, rider names, travel preferences, reactions and friendly challenges. Choose Wheelie · speed & time to compete for total wheelie time under or over your chosen km/h target and round duration.

Good to know Travel is locked during races and stunt challenges. Completed wheelies and landed jumps count towards friendly contests; these contests award no career rewards. Vespa fun mode is unavailable in online heats.

Open Jam setup →
ExpeditionsRide freely through open terrain with friends.

Explore dunes, woodland, mountains or canyons without a fixed roadbook route.

  1. Open multiplayer, choose Expedition and pick an area.

  2. Choose a bike, then create a room or join with its code.

  3. Head out from camp and explore. Use Camp to return and refuel when available outside a race.

Good to know An expedition is free exploration. For junction-by-junction navigation, choose Free ride or Rally school instead.

Multiplayer & hostingCreate a room or join an existing session.

Get everyone into the same room, then start the activity together.

  1. Join a Public room from Live lobbies, or enter an invite code in Multiplayer.

  2. To host, open Host a game. Choose Public for discovery or Invite-only to share a code or link yourself.

  3. Wait for riders to join and follow the room’s ready/start controls. In a heat, clear the gates in order.

Good to know Invite-only is the default. Online sessions need the racing service to be reachable; the Windows app also needs a connection for multiplayer.

Guided lessonsLearn roadbook navigation one skill at a time.

Understand the note before adding speed and steering.

  1. Start with lesson 1 and read its briefing. Follow the lesson path as your confidence grows.

  2. Watch follows the route for you. Predict asks you to read ahead and answer. Ride puts you in control where offered.

  3. Review the result and mistakes, then repeat the skill before moving on.

Good to know Pause to read. The symbol guide explains tulips, CAP, hazards and waypoint abbreviations.

Navigator trainerShort drills without riding a bike.

Recognise symbols, distances and navigation decisions quickly and accurately.

  1. Choose a topic, Mixed practice, Daily challenge or a review set.

  2. Read the prompt and choose your answer. Check the explanation, including when you guessed correctly.

  3. Continue through the set, then return to weaker topics in review.

Good to know Daily challenge and review use the same answer-and-feedback flow. A good first stop if steering and reading together feels difficult.

Choose a drill →
Rally schoolBuild a navigation session around one skill.

Combine roadbook reading, steering and terrain with a level of support that suits you.

  1. Choose a focus, difficulty and support level. Start with Foundations and coaching.

  2. Preview the generated roadbook and course before starting. Keep the seed to practise the same route again.

  3. Ride the course, check your result and remove support gradually. Choose a timed attempt when you are ready.

Good to know Practice aids affect scoring. Read the selected support description before a timed attempt.

Build a session →
Ghost racesRace a stage against recorded performances.

Compare your navigation and pace with the fastest available recorded riders.

  1. Open Leaderboards and select a stage.

  2. Use Race the ghosts to start a scored run. When online records are unavailable, you can still ride the stage solo.

  3. Follow the roadbook and finish the stage, then review your result. Set your racer name and check the connection requirements before expecting a published time.

Good to know Ghosts are recordings, not riders connected to your room. Practice map and reset aids are restricted during a ghost race.

Open Leaderboards →
Custom stagesBuild and ride your own roadbook.

Create a route, check its notes and keep it in My stages.

  1. Open My stages, then create a stage in the editor.

  2. Add the route and its navigation notes. Use the editor’s preview to check distances, turns and hazards.

  3. Save the stage, then launch it from My stages. Reopen the editor to improve confusing notes.

Good to know Keep a backup using the available export controls before changing or deleting a stage.

How to play

How do I control the bike?

Keyboard: W accelerates, A/D steer and S brakes (front brake in separate-brake mode). B applies the rear brake. Arrow keys move weight and lean. C is clutch, Space changes stance or charges a Trials hop, V changes camera, and Esc or P pauses. On touch, use Gas, Brake and the steering pad; Touch setup offers Stick, Slider and Tilt. Keyboard and controller remapping are in Settings. Choose primary and alternate keys; used keys swap. Esc always remains available.

Controls & touch setup →
How do I read a roadbook?

Read distance first, then the tulip and CAP. The tulip’s dot is where you enter the junction; its arrow is your exit. CAP is a compass heading in degrees. Match the actual ground and tripmeter to the note before committing. Browsing the book does not move the bike or complete a waypoint.

Open the symbol guide →
Can I practise the controls and stunts?

Riding school has 19 replayable stages for keyboard, phone and controller, from gentle throttle and separate brakes to slides, wheelies, scrapes, jumps and HUD setup. Tasks advance when you perform them. Retry freely with a supplied training bike.

Open playable riding school →
How do I wheelie and land safely?

In Jam, hold J or Wheelie to reach or catch balance with Guard or No guard. Below 35% gas, release to float naturally; hold clutch to coast. Scroll adjusts the W throttle cap, and Settings or Pause offers adjustable opening/closing travel. For manual lifting, shift weight back and add throttle; a revved clutch release can help lift the front. Balance with small throttle changes and weight corrections. Tap B (Rear in separate touch mode) to lower the front. Too much power can loop the bike. Challenge attempts need the stated assistance level and a controlled landing.

Check bike goals →
How do I jump, whip or hop?

Approach a ramp straight. In the air, W or Gas tilts back (nose up); S or any brake tilts forward (nose down). Centre weight and the bike gently aligns for landing, without changing the jump path. Hold weight for deliberate flips. Steering makes a whip; release to tuck back in. On a Trials bike, hold Space or Hop to preload and release to hop.

Check your controls →
How do I recover, pause or change camera?

Esc/P or the pause button opens the ride menu. Its Settings tab opens the full panel without leaving your ride. V changes camera on keyboard; phone riders use Camera in Menu. After a crash use R or Remount now. In supported solo practice, Track resets to the route and Map gives extra help. Recovery and maps are restricted in races; Festival recovery returns you to the last cleared gate without resetting the clock.

How do I unlock and customise bikes?

Garage shows each bike’s exact requirements and progress. Depending on the bike, points, lessons or a riding challenge can unlock it. Some bikes require specific manual stunts. You can track two goals from Garage or Achievements. Paint and tuning are saved for your owned bikes; a stock try-out does not grant ownership.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change keyboard controls while riding?

Yes. Pause, open Settings and expand Keyboard bindings. Select a primary or alternate key, then press its replacement. Esc cancels capture and always works as Pause/Back. Reset keyboard bindings restores the defaults. Changes save on this device; resume the same ride to use them.

What can I spend points on?

Garage offers bikes, permanent rider kits, helmets, boots and packs, plus three levels of engine or motor, gearing, suspension, tyre and lightweight upgrades for each bike. Preview gear free in Gear shop. Performance parts work in solo free rides, Jam, lessons and custom practice. Leaderboard stages, multiplayer and ghost races use standard performance. Free colours and ride setup stay available.

Where should I start?

Try lesson 1 if you are new to roadbooks. For riding controls, start a Desert free ride and practise accelerating, braking and turning. Navigator trainer lets you study without riding at the same time.

Why did a ride not earn points or complete a goal?

Recovered practice, borrowed test bikes and assisted runs have scoring restrictions. Manual challenges also check the bike, assistance setting and safe finish. Read the exact requirement in Garage or Achievements; progress may only count after a controlled landing.

Does Trials park unlock the Trials bike?

No. The quarry supplies a stock Trials 300 for practice. Your owned bikes and normal Garage selection are preserved when you leave. Check Garage for the unlock requirements.

Why can’t I see a friend’s room?

Only Public rooms appear in Live lobbies. For an Invite-only room, use its link or code. Check that both riders are connected and that the host has kept the room open. Refresh the list if a Public room has just been created.

Does the game work offline?

The browser app can work offline after its assets have been saved; let the first load finish while connected. The Windows app bundles solo content. Multiplayer needs a connection to the racing service. Optional media may still need to download first.

Where is my progress saved?

Browser progress is stored locally for the current profile. Account and sync status are shown in Settings. The Windows app uses separate local saves. Check sync status before changing devices, and keep a save backup before clearing browser data.

How do I switch light or dark mode?

Use the theme buttons in the top bar or Settings → Display & scenery. System follows your device preference. Your selection is remembered in this browser. Riding instruments keep their high-contrast dark surfaces.

Can I see the first-time guides again?

Yes. Open Help & FAQ from the top bar or Home. Every mode guide remains here after you dismiss it. You can also show the first-time tips again using the button below.

The game is slow or controls feel awkward. What should I change?

Open Settings to lower graphics quality and tune your controls. On a phone, try landscape, then choose Stick, Slider or Tilt in Touch setup. Close other demanding tabs. Pause before changing your riding setup.
